Keep Your Handbag and Wallet Safe

From the deck of your cruise ship, you venture out and explore the fruit market nearby. As you enjoy the taste of exotic fruits and walk around, you feel that something is terribly wrong. You lost your handbag which contains your cash, documents, and other essentials!This is every traveller's nightmare. Unfortunately, in a situation where you are with lots of people, you are always at the mercy of petty theft.That is why it is important to take safety precautions when travelling. Here are some tips for keeping your handbag and wallet safe.

Do not wear expensive clothes and jewellery. These attract would-be thieves who would not hesitate to grab your handbag or wallet.Carry only what is important. There is no need to carry take every credit card, a check book, or lumps of cash. A single credit card and enough cash to get you by will suffice. In addition, do not place all your cash inside the bag. Distribute the cash in your wallet and in the pockets of your clothes. Always keep your possessions close to you. Keep the straps on your shoulder and the handbag under your arm. If your strap is long, swing the bag in front of you; it is much harder for a would-be thief to steal it from your front rather than your side or back. If you are carrying a wallet, place it in an interior or front pocket of our outfit. And obviously, do not leave your bag or wallet unattended.

Keep all your handbag's pockets and zippers closed. Preferably, your wallet should also have a closing mechanism such as a lock, a zipper or Velcro straps. Using common sense and these simple reminders will help keep you safe from thieves.
